Press and hold

found (by the scan function), it will be played for a
few seconds before the scan of the next station. The
respective preset ashes.

Alternative Frequencies (AF)
AF is an RDS (Radio Data System) function and is only
available for FM stations. The unit searches in the back-
ground the best frequency for the selected station.
Press the
AF/MON button (22) to turn this function on
or o.
AF is displayed: Function is activated and RDS information
is received.
AF ashes: No RDS information is received.
AF is not displayed: Function is deactivated.
Program Type (PTY)
Some FM stations transmit besides the station name also
the program type.
You can search for stations with certain genres.
Press the button
PTY (17).
Select the desired PTY code by pressing the
/ but-
tons (23). The PTY genre is displayed.
Such program types may be for example:
SPORT NEWS POP M CLASSICS
After selecting a PTY code press the
button (23). PTY
SEEK is shown on the display. The unit searches for sta-
tions which correspond to the set PTY code and stops if a
corresponding station has been found. If no station with
the respective PTY genre is found, PTY NONE is displayed.
The PTY function is deactivated if the selected PTY genre
is no lon-ger received. Or press the button PTY (17) to end
the function early.
Trac Announcement (TA)
Hold down the
EQ/TA (19) button to switch this mode
on or o. TA is displayed with activated mode.
In the TA mode, switching from any other operation
mode is done immediately to a radio station sending
trac announcements at that time. TRAFFIC is shown
on the display. The volume level is adjusted to the
value set in the menu for the transmission of trac
information.
Briey hold down the
EQ/TA (19) button during
playback of trac radio to interrupt the TA function
without switching the function o.
General CD Functions
Anti-shock Function (ESP - Electric Shock Protection)
The unit is equipped with anti-shock function. This func-
tion compensates for bumps on uneven streets and ensure
uninterrupted playback.
Insert and Remove CD
Press the release button (1) to ip down the control
panel.
Insert the CD with the label up into the CD drive Flip
the control panel back up. The display shows CDP
PLAY. CD playback starts.
To eject the CD, press the
(28) button when the
control panel is ipped down. The CD is ejected. The
unit switches to Radio mode.
Remove the CD from the drive. The CD will be retracted
again after 10 seconds if it is not removed from the
slot; in this case playback does not start automatically.
NOTE
Please note:
A large variety of burner and compression software
is on the market; there are dierences in quality
between CDs and home-burnt CDs.
Furthermore, the music industry does not have xed
standards (copy protection).
For this reason it can happen that in exceptional
cases play-back problems for CDs and MP3/WMA CDs
occur. This is not a malfunction of this unit.
Select CD Mode (with CD inserted)
Repeatedly press
PAIR/MOD (4) until CDP PLAY is
displayed.
Skip Mode
Press
(23) or (23), to skip to the next or previous
track. The title number and the elapsed playing time
are shown on the display.
Fast Forward/Rewind
Press and hold
(23) or (23) to start fast forward or
rewind function.
Pause
Press
PAU (9), to pause playback. S-PAUSE is shown on
the display.
Press
PAU (9) again to resume playback.
Repeat Mode
Press
RPT (11) to repeat the current title. S-RPT and
the current title are displayed. Press again to return to
normal playback mode.
Only for MP3 les and CDs in MP3 Format:
Keep the RPT button (11) briey pressed to repeat the
current folder. D-RPT and the current title are shown.
Press the button to restore normal playback.
